Halo: Reach (post-Beta/E3 thread)
First up - "new and improved" Firefight mode included
Quote:
There it is: Halo: Reach includes Firefight. Did any of us doubt it for a second? We certainly didn't, and our troops on location at a Reach event tonight have relayed some info relevant to your interests.
First of all, Reach will include a new class: Medic. This Spartan comes packing a Dropshield ability -- the precursor to Halo 3's Bubble Shield.
But that's not even the best part: The new Firefight will have a host of customization options. Players can create their own tailor-made Firefight modes, changing the enemy types, weapon loadouts and other modifiers, including Covenant health and aggression. You could seriously create a mode where it's nothing but peace-loving Grunts, if you want. Then, you can fill out some info and share your custom version of Firefight through your file share.
Tonight's demo only has two playable maps, but we're working to confirm the total number planned for the final release.
One final interesting tidbit we'll leave you with is this: Bungie said Generator Defense in the Reach beta was actually a test for Firefight.

CLICK!
Reach is discussed beginning around the 35 minute mark.
Take notice of the new mortar-type weapon and the bubble/regen armor ability.

Grrrr. I'm visiting my grandparents and they have no Internet. Cell phone signal out here sucks too!
Hopefully FF plays more smoothly than Generator Defense or it will suffer the same problems as ODST

Bunnies,
Looks like they "borrowed" the Hammer of Dawn from GOW.

Kind of... This is my take from the video - it is a hammer of dawn/mortar hybrid
The weapon looks like the Hammer of Dawn and targets with a laser beam reticle, but once it is targeted energy beams fall from the sky like the mortars in Battlefield. It doesn't look like you can control exactly where they fall and they are not sustained like the Hammer of Dawn beam. The energy beams fall in an area and duration akin to mortar shells in Battlefield. But the laser targeting is definitely better than those stupid goggles in Battlefield.
I think it is the MAC gun from Halo 2/Halo Wars. (Now if I could just play Halo Wars before Reach comes out...)

Re: Halo: Reach (post-Beta/E3 thread)
Apparently there will be at least 3 variations for FF.
-Classic: what we had in ODST
-Generator Defense: yep from the Beta
-Rocket Fight: uh huh...Spartans vs. Bad Guys...we have an infinite supply rockets, they don't
We'll also have FF specific daily and weekly challenges along with armor permutation only awarded for FF play.
